SRI LANKAHIRIKETIYAA place becomes special
when it has a rhythm of its own.
Set around a small crescent bay on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, Hiriketiya is a village where jungle meets the ocean and life still moves with the pace of the tides. Fishermen head out before sunrise, surfers paddle into the morning waves, and the day slowly unfolds beneath the coconut palms, from quiet mornings to golden evenings by the water.
There is unique beauty here. The curve of the bay, the warm Indian Ocean, the lush green landscape and the waves that have made Hiri one of Sri Lanka’s most loved surf destinations. But it’s the life around that makes our home special, king coconuts and rotis by the road, familiar faces, the scent of frangipani after rain, and evenings that seem to stretch a little longer.
Old island traditions and a new creative energy exist side by side, giving Hiriketiya a character all of its own.
A place to explore, reconnect and, eventually,

THE JOURNEY
The name CIRCLES reflects the journeys that bring us back to the places we love. It's about returning, reconnecting and creating memories that come full circle.
Sri Lanka has become one of those places for us. What began as a shared love for the island grew into lasting friendships, family connections and a dream to create something of our own on its southern coast. Together, we've spent years exploring the island, building lasting local relationships and welcoming travellers through hospitality businesses that have become part of the south coast's story.
CIRCLES is the result of that journey.
We hope you'll leave feeling the same pull that keeps bringing us back.

THE MAKERS
Every place carries the marks of the people who made it.
At CIRCLES, those marks are everywhere. The villas were built by craftsmen from Sri Lanka’s south coast; masons and carpenters who understand the heat, the rain and the rhythm of coastal life through generations of experience.
Inside, each space carries another layer of the island’s story. The statement artwork was created by Ann, an artist who has spent years working along this coastline. The soaps, oils and shampoos are made by people who call the south coast home, bringing small moments of local craft into your stay.
Thoughtful choices extend beyond what you see. CIRCLES uses solar water heating and a wastewater management system, designed to reduce our impact while keeping the villas comfortable and easy to live in.
We believe the most meaningful places are built through connection, by the people who shape them, the stories they carry and the memories they create.
THE SOUNDTRACK
A song can hold a memory the way nothing else does. Four bars, and suddenly you're back somewhere specific. We like to think that's what CIRCLES is about too- the places, people and moments that draw us back.
After more than two decades in the radio and music industry, Andy has curated the musical experience throughout CIRCLES. Each villa has its own turntable, a collection of Sri Lankan vinyl sourced from independent record stores in Colombo and Galle, and a bespoke playlist created for that house, its rhythm and the moments you'll spend there.
One day, one of these songs might be the thing that brings you back.
